Medieval Food
Royalty and nobility ate their food off of golden plates. However, lower class people ate their food of of wooden dishes. Each person had their own knives as spoons were rarely used. This is because liquids, such as soup, were usually drunk from cups. The upper class daily meals provided a huge diversity of different types of food. There were highly religious people of the middle ages, and the eating of meat was band. Higher and lower classes ate differently obviously the lower class didn't have as much as the higher class.
During the middle ages food was changed considerably. The extreme times of the dark ages led to lack of food. Most people in the middle ages had to make there own food. The main food for the peasants were mostly dark bread, they did not eat much meat. The lords had to grant permission to people in his village to catch food. In the village people also had to get permission from the lord to sell food. The lord could only have trout and salmon, no one else could. If a peasant ever tried to steal food from the king he would suffer a brutal punishment.
